It didn't take Bryk long to find his hands and suck his thumb. By March 7, only a little over a week old he was sucking his thumb periodically. He also was very strong and was holding his head up fairly well by March 11. We starting giving him bottles periodically so that he would be used to a bottle when I went back to work. He took his first bottle on March 15 and never batted an eye! He took it like a champ! We gave him his first bath in the bathtub after his umbilical cord finally came off on March 17. He absolutely loved his bath in the bathtub! Bryk finally outgrew his preemie clothes when he was a little over 3 weeks old. Bryk smiled for the first time when he was a little over 5 weeks old. Momma-D swears he smiled at her first, although none of us were completely convinced! Bryk flew for the first time to Grandpa & Grandma's on April 24, and he did great! He slept most of the way!

Just a few days after turning 2 months old we started putting Bryk in his crib. I was getting ready to go back to work and I was afraid of waking him early in the mornings with him sleeping in the cradle next to our bed. He did pretty good sleeping in his crib- still woke frequently to eat but that was pretty normal. Bryk stayed with Ms. Ashley for the first time on May 6, which was also my first day back to work! We both survived! Up until now, Bryk's smiles were just here and there. When he was about 10 weeks old he started smiling A LOT!

Just a few days after turning 3 months old, we flew for the second time to Minnesota for Kaylee's graduation. Bryk again did great! He slept some and as long as Momma or Daddy was holding him, he was happy. Bryk was at a point where he was staying awake for longer periods and wanting to be held ALL THE TIME. It was sweet yet frustrating because I felt like I could never get anything done! He also experienced swimming and going to the lake for the first time this month! This month Bryk started cooing and jabbering non-stop!

Bryk learned A LOT this month! On June 30, a few days after turning 4 months old he rolled over! He actually did it while Dandee was keeping him, but decided to show Momma a few days later! Bryk also decided that he hated his carseat this month and was a terrible rider. Carter and I were sure we were going to lose our sanity because of Bryk's screaming any time we drove, until we discovered how much Bryk enjoyed tv! It may be bad parenting, but we were willing to try anything! Bryk loves watching movies on the iPad or DVD player when driving, and since we started playing movies for him, he is so much more pleasant! One other thing that makes Bryk much more pleasant is his blankie. It was a blanket Dandee bought him before he was born. I gave it to him one day, and he fell in love! Now we don't go anywhere without it!
We also started feeding Byrk cereal this month. At first it was difficult and Bryk wasn't too crazy about it, but we hoped it would help him sleep better. He was waking up every 2 hours at this point and Momma was beyond exhausted.

Bryk also started teething this month. Being new to this parenting thing I had no idea he was teething, however, I knew that something had to be wrong with my sweet baby! He was super fussy and hard to console. He was hardly sleeping and acted like he was miserable. Well...this is called teething! Which was miserable for all of us! Thank the Lord for Tylenol, because it was our life saver! One of the only things Bryk enjoyed during his teething was swinging outside. He loves it!
A few other things Bryk learned were to hold his bottle and he started reaching and grabbing for toys. He really started enjoying just laying and playing in the floor. Bryk's favorite toy quickly became his feet! Once he found his feet they were almost always in his mouth!
Weight: approximately 14 lbs
Bryk's first tooth, which was his bottom right tooth, appeared on July 28. We started baby foods this month. Bryk was definitely not a fan at first, but slowly warmed up to the idea and once he finally did, he LOVED eating! He has tried avocados, squash, zucchini, sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, pears, and peaches. Momma is attempting to make all of his baby food! Bryk started putting EVERYTHING in his mouth! Anything he gets his hands on, goes directly to his mouth! Bryk got his second tooth, which was his bottom left tooth, on August 5. One of the biggest accomplishments for this month was the fact that Bryk started sleeping all night! Momma was SO excited about this! On August 24, Bryk laughed out loud for the first time! It was so cute! He was actually sitting with Dandee in the floor while Momma worked out, and he thought Momma was awfully funny doing her workout!

Our sweet boy is now 6 months old! Wow, how time has flown! He is now rolling quite well on the floor and sitting up on his own! He does semi-scoot, but hasn't quite figured out the whole crawling thing, although I don't think it will be too long! He is such a good eater and so much fun! His favorite toy is his saucer!
And lastly, here are a bunch of cute, random pics of the Brykster!
