We have finally settled back in and life is back to "normal." Once we arrived back home we hit the ground running! Carter and I both went right back to work and when I wasn't working at the hospital, I was working on our house! It got very neglected over our 3 weeks worth of traveling! I never thought it would feel so good or that I would want so badly to clean my house! So, that in itself speaks volumes about how horribly our house needed attention. We were also very excited to see our fur babies Micah and Malachi...and they were pretty excited to see us! Although, Micah got plenty spoiled by Aubree and Dane!
When we arrived back in San Angelo, the weather was in the 50s and 60s and absolutely beautiful! But last week it got much colder and SNOWED! Yes, it snowed like 3-4"! We were so excited! Our good friends Stephen and Anna were over at our house and we had a wonderful fire, compliments to my husband, and homemade chicken and dumplings! Of course, the minute it started snowing the boys went immediately to the shed to get the little SnowFox out to make it's 1st debut in the snow.

The weather has started to get a little warmer this week...back to the 50s and 60s. So...that leads me to our next adventure.
This Sunday we decided to go 4-wheeling. Carter and I have done this multiple times, just the two of us, but we wanted Stephen and Anna to join us this time with their quads. Carter and I both have a helmet and we had two extras for Stephen and Anna. The only problem is that neither of them fit Stephen due to largeness of his head. We decided to go on with our jaunt...we weren't planning to do anything too crazy. In the first five minutes, we got stopped by both a game warden and a policeman, neither of which Carter and I have ever seen when we have gone alone. The policeman ruined all of our fun, making Stephen get a helmet. The plan was then for Stephen to run get a helmet from Wal-Mart and for the three of us to meet him on the other side of the lake we were riding around.
Well...Anna and I are just riding behind Carter having a good time, until we realize that Carter is lost. Carter keeps riding down into river beds trying to find a way to cross over to the other side, and then in the bottom of one of the river beds, his 4-wheeler sinks! I'm talking really sinks....like half of his 4-wheeler is underground in this mud that resembles pudding and STINKS! Now...not only is Carter stuck, but Stephen is trying to find us and since we are lost, we aren't really able to give him good directions to us. It is getting dark and cold. Carter is practically swimming in mud trying to dig the 4-wheeler out and trying to pull it out. We finally resolve to leave the stuck 4-wheeler and ride to the nearest highway where Stephen can easily find us and pick us up, then the boys can go back and together try to get the 4-wheeler out of the mud. Stephen picks us up and the boys go on the hunt to find the 4-wheeler and get it un-stuck. Anna and I just sit in the truck waiting...and waiting...and waiting. After almost 2 hrs of waiting, I call my sister to come pick us up so at least the two of us can get cleaned up and eat since we were starving and worried about the food that each of us had cooking in the crock-pot. We hadn't exactly expected to be gone for 6 hrs! Longer story, shorter, the boys got the 4-wheeler un-stuck and were covered with mud from head to toe, neither of the crock-pot meals were burned, and we all showered and had supper together at our house. I did find humor at one point during this mess and suggested taking a picture of Carter covered in mud and the stuck 4-wheeler, but let's just say that Carter shot that down pretty quick. We did get a picture of the 4-wheeler after the fact, which doesn't do the situation justice at all! And due to all the work Carter did trying to get the 4-wheeler out of the mud, he is walking a little funny and having some back pain! Good thing his wife is a nurse...and has injured her back before! I am taking good care of him!

And lastly, our Micah girl got a new haircut. When we picked her up I almost didn't recognize her as my baby! I had to laugh, but I know she feels great and Carter and I are both getting used to seeing her with her new haircut!
I think that about covers everything over the last couple of weeks! Until next time...
