Kid's Kamp, Malachi's Birthday, & 4th of July

Hey everyone!  I have been working on our blog since the last post!  What do y'all think?  I started looking at some other people's blogs that I know...and thought to myself...ours is pretty boring!  I am learning more and more each time I work on it, so please give me feedback on the changes that I have made!

June 26, 2011, my sweet cat, Malachi's, birthday!  He turned 4 years old!  For those who haven't met him, he is a big, fat, adorable, 12 pound, spoiled cat.  I'm convinced that he thinks he is a human baby!  Here are some pics of him through the years.

Isn't he just so cute!?   I think he did finally grow into his ears!  He is always into something...he loves getting into any space that he can fit!

Last week, June 27-30, my sister and I went to Kid's Kamp with our church, PaulAnn Baptist.   This is my 3rd year to go as Camp Nurse and Aubree's 2nd year to go as my assistant.  Aubree is not a nurse, but they allow me to take someone with me to help me track down all the kids to give them their medicine, apply bandaids, get ice packs, etc.  The camp was over 200 this year, so we stayed pretty busy!  It is really fun to go and watch all the kids play and listen to them talk, especially if they didn't know you were listening!  They are so funny!  The coolest thing about Kid's Kamp is listening to and watching 3-6th grade kiddos worship our Lord and Savior and king of Kings, which was our camp theme this year!  I wish I had a picture of our worship services to show you!  Carter and I really hadn't seen each other much prior to me leaving for Kid's Kamp due to our work schedules, so he came to visit us one night!  Isn't he so sweet!?  It was so good to see him!

I got Carter some new bindings for his wakeboard for Valentine's Day this year.  He loved them and swore they made his jumps better and felt more stable.  Well...he only used them a couple of times and one huge crash later....they broke right off the wakeboard! It kind of scared me and I think it kind of shocked Carter as well.  I was just really glad that he was ok and didn't break any bones!

So, he called the company and told them what had happened.  We sent them proof of purchase with date and pictures like the ones above.  They sent Carter a new pair of bindings and upgraded him to the ones a little nicer than his previous bindings.  He was so excited!

We celebrated 4th of July this weekend here in San Angelo.  My family, my Aunt Vette & Uncle Kenny, some family friends Monte & Shelly Moore, and one of my good friends from high school Megan & Mason Becker all came to the lake.  We had a good time playing on the lake with them.  We took our boat out a few times and rode with my Aunt & Uncle some too.  Each family cooked a meal and we all got together in the evening to eat and hang out!  I finally got a "great job"  on driving the boat from my husband!  That was an accomplishment in itself!  With me driving Carter was able to clear the wake...YAY!  Except for on one attempt to clear the wake, he crashed and broke yet another set of bindings!  This time it wasn't near as bad of a break...the loops that hold the shoe strings came un-sewed from the bindings in a couple of places.  I couldn't believe that this had happened a 2nd time!   Carter is currently sitting next to me on the couch trying to re-sew the loops back in place.

We went out on the boat to watch the fireworks from the water.  We did the same thing last year also and it is so neat!  I tried to take some pictures of the fireworks, they were so beautiful!

Carter & I on the boat waiting on it to get dark for the fireworks
It's kind of hard to tell but all those lights are all the boats sitting on the lake.  So cool!

The fireworks...they were ALOT prettier in person

We had a good time watching the fireworks out on the lake, but getting back to our house was a nightmare!  We had gone out to Spring Creek Marina (which is only about 4 miles from our house) and everyone from San Angelo had also come and parked around the lake.  It literally took us 45 minutes to get home waiting on all the traffic that was piled up in those 4 miles!  We did finally make it home and went straight to bed.  We are all rested up this morning and getting geared up for another week and a half before we head to Minnesota for our Wedding Recpetion...YAY!
