Celebration!

I know it is a little early for Christmas, but I started playing with the blog background, which is not as easy as you may think!  I found this background and love it, so judge if you want, but it is so much trouble to change, it is STAYING! : )

Over the last two weeks Carter and I have stayed busy as usual!  The exciting part is that we have spent most of it celebrating!  Here is a quick update on all that we have "celebrated!"

Micah turned 4 years old on November 3!  I honestly don't know what I would do without her to keep me company, especially when Carter is gone.  Here are some pics of her through the years!

On November 4, Seth played his last football game at his home stadium at Dawson High School against Loop.  It was senior night so before the game Seth escorted Mom & Dad out and a letter that he wrote was read aloud.  Believe it or not the letter was VERY sweet and he gave us all a good cry!

P.S. Doesn't Mom look great!?  She has lost quite a bit of weight and is looking FABULOUS! ; )

Seth played his BEST game of the season scoring 7 touchdowns!  The Dragons came out on top and took the District Championship!  It was so exciting!  This will be Seth's fourth year in a row to go to the playoffs which makes it even sweeter!

Poppy & Momma-D were cold during the game...and Poppy is even wearing his Paul Bunyan coat that he ordered while they were visiting MN
Dad's ears got cold so he borrowed Carter's beenie...but he didn't want his cowboy hat to get stepped on...so here is the result!

Poppy was pretty excited too...he tackled Seth and lost his hat

The Dragon's first playoff game was this last Friday, November 11 in Garden City against Balmorhea for the Bi-District Championship.  We were all nervous for Seth, because any game could be the last.  It was a close game throughout, but the Dragons again pulled out the win in the end!  The next playoff game is this Friday, November 18 against Sterling City (they were 2nd in the state last year).  Everyone say a little prayer for the Dawson Dragons!

One of my closest friends, Lindsay, was having her Bachelorette party in Dallas on Friday thru Sunday of this past weekend as well.  We couldn't miss Seth's game, so after the game Carter and I packed up and headed off to Dallas so I could be there for the rest of the party.  It was a LONG drive, but we arrived at our hotel at 3:45 am.  I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband, willing to drive me all that way!

We visited a few wineries on Saturday mid afternoon and had lunch, then we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the evening.  Lindz's sisters had rented a limo for us so we really enjoyed that!  We ate supper at Mi Cocina, which is a fantastic Mexican food restaurant in Ft. Worth.  There were about 14 girls, so supper took some time.  Then we spent a little time out dancing.  We had a great time!

And more...
You may all be wondering what Carter did while we were out having fun....  Don't worry, he was out having his own fun!  He, of course after sleeping in and watching football for a while, searched Craigslist in Dallas.  He found something he absolutely could not live without, which I admit is pretty darn cool, so he went and picked it up.  I know everyone is wondering what is it that he found....well it'll just have to wait till next blog update to be revealed!  He is working on getting it all ready for pictures!  After picking up his "gadget" he went to eat supper at the Sports bar and found some guys from MN to chat with for a few hours.  He definitely kept himself entertained!

When the party was all over on Sunday, Carter and I went to Cabela's to see if we could find anything we couldn't leave Dallas without.  I have to say I think we were more impressed with looking at all the stuffed animals than anything else in the store.  We left spending a whole $6.52 on some spark plugs and cinnamon glazed pecans!

While we were in the area we decided to stop by and say "Hi!" to my Aunt Kristi.  It just so happened that we also got to see my cousins Tanner and Aleesa and their new baby, Syrus.  We had such a good time seeing them and catching up and the best part, holding baby Sy!  I don't have pictures of our visit, but here is a pic of sweet Syrus!

Well, I think that is all I have for now!  Expect an update soon of the outcome of the next Dawson Dragon playoff game and the reveal of Carter's new "gadget!"
